Two Taiwanese divers are reported to have died after getting into an underwater cave or cavern at a depth of round 30m in western Japan.
The lads have been diving off Okinawa’s essential island yesterday (1 August). In response to regional media they have been a 28-year-old surnamed Zhang, who had travelled to Okinawa with 4 associates, and a 24-year-old teacher surnamed Shao.Â
They have been diving from a ship that had left Seragaki fishing port and headed to some extent about 800m north of Manza Seashore, close to the city of Onna. The Manza space is thought amongst scuba divers for its underwater topographical options together with caves and caverns, and typically sturdy currents.
On what was mentioned in a single report back to have been their third dive of the day, Zhang and Shao had entered the water with three of the opposite Taiwanese divers however had didn’t emerge from the cave.
One other teacher had introduced the three remaining divers again to the dive-boat, and at round 3pm the captain notified Nago Coast Guard that two divers have been lacking.
A search and rescue dive-team finally situated the 2 males contained in the cave at round 5.30pm. They have been introduced up and brought to hospital, however have been pronounced lifeless.
