DAN Introduces 2025 Interns – Divers Alert Community

DURHAM, NC – June 17, 2025 – Divers Alert Community® (DAN®) is proud to introduce its 2025 interns: Sam Crenshaw, Tyler Horton, Anna Krylova, and Samantha Nosalek.

The DAN internship program was began in 1999 to present certified candidates useful expertise in dive security analysis. Whereas this system remains to be research-oriented, its scope has expanded over time to incorporate initiatives that concentrate on different features of DAN’s mission to assist divers in want of emergency medical help and to advertise dive security by training. Sam Crenshaw is a lieutenant within the U.S. Coast Guard and a divemaster. Sam earned a B.S. in marine engineering know-how from Texas A&M Maritime Academy at Texas A&M College at Galveston. Sam’s Coast Guard profession has included inspecting industrial vessels in Philadelphia and New Jersey, investigating maritime casualties in Baton Rouge, and being a part of a specialised Marine Business Coaching Program that focuses on dive and snorkel vessel casualty investigations performed by the Coast Guard. He selected to work with DAN as part of this program to additional perceive the intricacies of dive-related incidents and promote the mutual lifesaving security pursuits of the U.S. Coast Guard and DAN.

Tyler Horton, a local of Indiana, graduated from the College of Dayton in 2022 with a Bachelor of Science in biology and minors in neuroscience and Spanish. Following commencement, she served as the chief director of a global public well being nonprofit devoted to early screening and preventative take care of breast and cervical most cancers. She then spent a yr solo backpacking throughout the globe, checking off bucket record adventures and falling in love with scuba diving alongside the way in which. Anna Krylova is a marine scientist pursuing pursuits in behavioral ecology, conservation, and revolutionary storytelling. In 2024, she earned her Grasp of Science in marine biology from Northeastern College, the place she investigated humpback whale foraging dynamics alongside California’s coast for her thesis. Whereas in grad college, Anna began pursuing underwater images and have become an AAUS scientific diver, exploring numerous ecosystems in Massachusetts, Panama, Washington, and California. She beforehand accomplished her B.S. in marine biology with a photojournalism minor at Northeastern, conducting cuttlefish camouflage analysis on the Marine Organic Laboratory and honing her abilities in analysis and visible storytelling. She is keen to develop her advertising and marketing experience throughout her internship to assist foster stronger connections between the general public and our oceans.

Samantha Nosalek is a sophomore on the College of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, pursuing a level in biomedical engineering by the Lampe Joint Division of Biomedical Engineering. She is a NAUI divemaster with certifications in superior nitrox and decompression procedures, and he or she volunteers with SEAKERS, a nonprofit scuba group primarily based in her hometown of Harmony, North Carolina. She appears ahead to constructing a powerful basis within the fundamentals of diving analysis throughout her internship.
